【摘要】:ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandardspecifiesthemethodofprovidingtheOSIConnection-modeNetworkService(CONS)bypacketmodeterminalequipmentconnectedtoanIntegratedServicesDigitalNetwork(ISDN)inaccordancewiththeproceduresdescribedinRecommendationX.31.ThisisdonebyspecifyingthemappingoftheCONSprimitivesandparameterstoandfromtheelementsoftheprotocolsusedbytwotypesofpacketmodeterminalequipment:a)anX.25DTE(TE2)connectedtoanRreferencepointandaccessinganISDN;andb)apacketmodeISDNterminal(TE1)operatingISO/IEC8208packetlayerprotocol(PLP)andconnectedtoanISDNateithertheSorTreferencepoint.ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandardisapplicable:a)whenoperatingaccordingtoRecommendationX.31,eitheraTE1oraTE2isconnectedtoapackethandlerinanISDNoranaccessunittoapacket-switcheddatanetworkviaanISDN;b)whenusinganISDNcircuit-switchedchannel,eitherTE1sand/orTE2/TAsareconnecteddirectlytoeachother(i.e.theterminalsoperateinDTE/DTEmode).ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandarddoesnotaddressTE2susingTAs(attheRreferencepoint)whenusinganISDNcircuit-switchedchannelwiththeterminalsoperatinginDTE/DTEmode(seeRecommenda-tionX.613|ISO/IEC10588).NOTES1ThedefinitionsofTE1,TE2andTAequipment,andR,S,andTreferencepointsaregiveninRecommenda-tionⅠ.411.2ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandardappliestoaTE1orTE2/TA(i.e.anOSIEndSystem)regardlessofwhetheritisaphysicallyseparatesystemorembeddedinotherequipmentsuchasaPBX.ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandardaddressestheprovisionoftheCONSusingVirtualCallsasdescribedinRecommendationX.25.ItdoesnotaddresstheuseofX.25PermanentVirtualCircuits.TheextensionofthisRecommendation|InternationalStandardtoincludetheuseofX.25PVCsisforfurtherstudy.NOTE-ThisRecommendation|InternationalStandardusesnumberstoidentifylayers,ratherthantheirnames.ThisisdonetoaligntheterminologyofthisdocumentwiththeterminologyoftherelatedISDNRecommendations,anddoesnotimplyanychangeinthefunctionalityofthelayersfromthatdefinedinthereferencemodelofopensystemsinterconnection.
